A Japanese-style room size is traditionally measured in tatami-mat size. One tatami-mat is approximately 1.8 square meter (19.4 square ft.).We have rooms of 6-tatami-mat size (10.8 m² | 116.3 ft²), 8-tatami-mat size (14.4 m² | 155 ft²), 10-tatami-mat size (18 m² | 194 ft²) and 14-tatami-mat size (25.2 m² | 271 ft²), all simple traditional style. All rooms were renovated 20 years ago, but the rooms are still in very good condition, kept very clean and comfortable for our guests.
Fresh and local ingredients are carefully selected and prepared.
All courses includes several small appetizers, sashimi, vegetables served with fish or tofu, grilled meat or fish, deep fried vegetables and seafood, and seasonal dessert. Please note that dinner and breakfast are served in the dining hall, not in the guests room.
We serve a delicious Kyoto cuisine nine-course meal. Everything is prepared with fresh of local ingredients. Hassun (appetizers), Mukouzuke (sashimi), Aizakana (steamed food), Sunomono (vinegared food) are served along with Ryokufuso’s specialties.
Smoking is allowed in the lobby and in the rock garden at the entrance.
The indoor spa is located on the 6 floor and opens in the morning. Guests can relax and enjoy the view of the mountains and the streets of Kyoto while taking a bath. At night, the common space near the elevator is a nice place to rest after bath. It has a beautiful view of Kyoto Station and Kyoto Tower.

From Kyoto Station
There is a taxi station at the main exit of the Kyoto Station (North). Tell the driver to take you to “Ryokufuso” at “Nishinotoin-rokujyou-agaru”. It only costs the minimum fare, around 640 JPY.
Take the city bus No. 50 at the bus terminal at Kyoto Station, and get off at the 3rd stop, the “Nishinotoin-rokujyou” stop. The bus fare is 220 JPY. The hotel is across the street from the bus stop.
Get out the main exit of Kyoto Station (North), and walk west on Shiokoji-Dori Street. Turn north at “Shiokoji-Nishinotoin Intersection”. Walk straight forward, pass the “Shichijo-Nishinotoin Intersection” and you will see the hotel on the right.
